The Constitutive Agreement entered into force on May 17th 2019, following the deposit of the ratification instruments by Members, including the Federal Republic of Germany and the European Union, thus establishing the Foundation as International Organisation. The Constitutive Agreement of the Foundation is the very first international agreement negotiated by all 62 members of the Strategic Partnership between the European Union, Latin America and the Caribbean, thus representing with its entry into force a bi-regional milestone.
The depositary of the Agreement establishing the EU-LAC International Foundation is the European Council and it has been opened for ratifications on 25th October 2016 to the date of its entry into force.
