The EU-LAC Foundation is an intergovernmental organisation comprised by 61 members: 33 countries from Latin America and the Caribbean, the 27 European Union (EU) members States, and the EU through its institutions. The organisation is a sui generis tool for bi-regional relations between the European Union, Latin America and the Caribbean, being the only international organisation with a bi-regional mandate according to its purpose and geographical composition of its membership.
These members are represented in the Board of Governors. The Board oversees the management of the organisation and ensures that it is working towards its goals. The Board of Governors is convened on regular sessions twice per year co-chaired by the Community of Latin American and the Caribbean States (CELAC) via its Pro Tempore Presidency and the European Union via the European External Action Service (EEAS).
