The General Consulate of Ecuador in Hamburg invites the international community to the screening of MATILDE. The Lady of the Century, by renowned Ecuadorian director César Carmigniani. This inspiring film narrates the life of Matilde Hidalgo de Procel, a pioneer and symbol of the true female struggle in Latin America. Her most notable achievements include: first Ecuadorian and Latin American woman to exercise the right to vote, first woman to obtain a Bachelor’s degree, first female doctor graduated in the country, and first woman elected to public office in Ecuador.
