Our Director of Programmes, Dr Anna Barrera, and Executive Director, Mr Alberto Brunori, recently travelled to Copenhagen to explore new opportunities for collaboration in the lead-up to the upcoming CELAC–EU Summit.

Their first engagement was at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark. There, Mr Brunori met with Mr Eric Høeg, Special Representative for Latin America; Ms Anna Darling, Desk Officer; and Mr Christian Bayer Tygesen, Deputy Director for Asia, Oceania, Latin America and the Caribbean. The meeting served as an opportunity to review the Foundation’s ongoing initiatives and to explore potential areas of engagement and support from the Danish government in the context of the forthcoming Summit.

This was followed by a meeting with Dr Marie Kolling of the Danish Institute for International Studies and Professor Georg Wink of the University of Copenhagen. Their dialogue focused on exploring potential avenues for future cooperation with the EU-LAC Foundation, particularly in the organisation of a future EU–LAC Think Tanks Meeting.

The final visit of the mission was to the Embassy of Colombia in Denmark, where they held a meeting with Her Excellency Catalina Velasco Campuzano, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, and Mr Duván Reynerio Ocampo Pinzón, Minister Plenipotentiary. Mr Brunori and Dr Barrera presented our organisation’s strategic roadmap towards the CELAC–EU Summit, scheduled to take place in Colombia this November. The discussion concluded with a productive exchange of ideas regarding the EU–LAC Think Tanks Meeting.
