The EU-LAC Foundation and UNED Pontevedra invite you to the II EU-LAC – UNED Pontevedra Conference, “Reviewing the Results of the CELAC-EU Summit 2025: New Impetus for Economic Relations between Latin America, the Caribbean and Europe?”
The event will bring together leading figures from the political, academic and international spheres to analyse the outcomes of the IV CELAC-EU Summit. It seeks to continue advancing bi-regional commitments and to reflect on the opportunities that arise for strengthening economic relations between Latin America, the Caribbean and Europe.
The overall objective of the Conference is to provide a space for dialogue and learning that enables the exchange of knowledge and perspectives on regional integration and sustainable development. It also aims to foster joint reflection on how to reconcile European interests in trade and investment with the development goals of Latin American and Caribbean countries, while exploring the challenges and prospects for enhancing bi-regional cooperation in a context of political, economic and social diversity.
The Conference will take place in a hybrid format —both in person and online— on 4 and 5 December 2025 at the UNED Pontevedra Centre, allowing participation from both regions.
The programme will feature an opening session, the presentation and discussion of recent reports by the OECD Development Centre, panels addressing the agreements reached at the CELAC-EU Summit, the Award Ceremony for Doctoral Theses on Regional Integration, the European Union and Latin America, and a closing session.
All sessions will be moderated by representatives of UNED Pontevedra and the EU-LAC Foundation, and will include invited experts, encouraging open dialogue and exchange with the audience.
Participation is free of charge and open to all interested individuals, whether attending in person or virtually, with the possibility of following the sessions live or on demand. Participants will receive a certificate of attendance issued by UNED Pontevedra and will be invited to take part in evaluation and feedback surveys.
The working language of the Conference will be Spanish.
