From 6 September to 22 November, Hamburg once again becomes a stage for encounters with Latin America and the Caribbean during the 12th edition of the Latin American and Caribbean Autumn Festival (LAC Herbst). Under the motto “Bridge between Regions”, this year’s Festival celebrates the connections between the region and Europe.

Founded in 2014 on the initiative of the Hamburg Senate and the accredited Latin American and Caribbean consular corps in the city, and coordinated since 2017 by the EU-LAC Foundation, the Autumn Festival invites audiences to discover the sounds, flavours, stories, and traditions of Latin America and the Caribbean through a vibrant and diverse programme.

In 2025, the Festival consolidates its role as a space for cultural and artistic dialogue between regions. This year, its programme takes place in a special context: the 4th European Union–Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (EU-CELAC) Summit, to be held in November in Colombia. A key moment to highlight how culture and the arts can serve as engines of mutual understanding and bi-regional cooperation.

“This Festival reaffirms its role as a bridge between Latin America, the Caribbean, and Europe, reminding us that art, and music in particular, has the power to bring us closer together,” said Alberto Brunori, Executive Director of the EU-LAC Foundation.

This edition places special emphasis on collaborations between artists from Latin America, the Caribbean, and Europe, with particular attention to projects that have emerged in Hamburg – a city historically open to the world and a cultural meeting point.
