It aims to foster academic mobility for students in teacher education programmes by ensuring recognition of study periods abroad. To this end, grants are awarded to undergraduate and postgraduate students: future teachers in the region. The period of the stay is one semester, with a variable financial endowment depending on the destination, which 744 students in pre-school, primary, secondary, special, high school and technical-vocational education have already benefited from. Because of the pandemic, the latest edition of this programme has been transformed into a virtual mobility experience offered by the National University of Education of Ecuador and supported by the Mexican Ministry of Education. It is aimed at teachers and managers of teacher training colleges in Mexico and teacher training institutions in Ecuador and Uruguay, with technical assistance from the UNED. This initiative has benefited 160 teachers and managers from these three countries in the 2020-2021 academic year.
