In different parts of the world, LGBTQIA* people continue to face significant challenges in living freely and safely. In both Honduras and Germany, discrimination, hostility and attacks remain a reality that limits equal rights and full participation in society. Those who defend and promote the rights of the community are often exposed to additional pressure and risks.
How do those affected deal with ongoing stigmatisation, discrimination and attacks? Who is responsible for the violence and what is needed to effectively protect LGBTQIA* people? What contribution can Germany and the international community make? These and other questions will be discussed with guests from Honduras and Germany at this event: Equal rights and opportunities for all? The courageous commitment of the LGBTQIA* community in Honduras and Germany to a safe and independent life.’
