This publication is part of a series of analyses, recommendations and strategic contributions by the EU-LAC Foundation to enrich the bi-regional dialogue and the IV CELAC-EU Summit. It contains the executive summary and policy recommendations on energy inequalities resulting from a comparative study on inequality between Europe and Latin America and the Caribbean.
The study was launched in 2024 by the EU-LAC Foundation and the Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO), with the aim of generating evidence-based analysis to help guide public policy, cooperation programmes and investment in the context of the EU-CELAC strategic partnership.
The transition to clean energy, and its potential to address some of the structural dimensions of inequality within and between our two regions, remains a central priority on the agenda of the upcoming CELAC-EU Summit 2025 and the Business Forum. In this regard, the EU-LAC Foundation is pleased to present the authors' main findings and policy recommendations in this document.
