On 21 and 22 May, the XIV Strategic Triangle Summit: Latin America and the Caribbean – Europe – Africa will take place in Lisbon. The event is co-sponsored by the EU-LAC Foundation and organised by the Institute for the Promotion of Latin America and the Caribbean (IPDAL).

The Executive Director of the EU-LAC Foundation, Mr Alberto Brunori, will take part in the opening session of the second day, where he will present insights into the work of the bi-regional organisation in the lead-up to the upcoming EU-CELAC Summit.

Held under the theme “Learning from the Past, Looking to the Future”, the event will bring together global leaders, experts and policymakers to discuss key challenges in intercontinental relations, including the strengthening of multilateralism, global security, sustainable economic development, and the empowerment of younger generations.

This tri-regional approach aims to create a strategic dialogue platform between Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, and Africa, with the goal of fostering strong alliances in the face of shared challenges, as well as identifying opportunities and promoting cooperation for peace, development and shared prosperity.

The event seeks to make a meaningful contribution to the development of a joint agenda between the three regions. The knowledge and proposals generated during the meeting are intended to inform public policy and drive a more balanced, inclusive, and sustainable future across the tri-regional space.
